Yesterday we were involved in a meeting at our factory where the buyers for a project in Bakewell were conscious we would struggle to cut their stone to clad onto our chimneys.
After showing them around the factory our customer brought some stone with them, which of course, we were happy to show how easy it is. We cut this stone in seconds.

Fab-Lite Building Solutions continue to invest in their brick cutting services with more specialist equipment arrive to our industrial unit in Skelmanthorpe. We understand that speed is of the essence and producing a high amount of cut bricks per day is pivotal. Here at Fab-Lite we have machinery able to produce thousands of perfectly cut bricks per day. We are incredibly proud of the quality and service we achieve for our customers.
Our sister company Fab-Lite Facades completed the Flood Defence Scheme in Shoreham. Over 15,000 bricks were used to complete the 7,200m scheme which runs along the banks of the River Adur, with 1.8km of new defences on the east bank and 5.4km on the west bank between the river mouth. With Britain famous for it's unique weather flood defence schemes are becoming more and more important.
Sometimes you don't feel the benefit of Design team meetings until you see the finished results. When we passed the Mill Hill project last week it was satisfying to see how brilliant they looked. We supplied our brick slip chimneys to Linden Homes and you could see lots of key elements that we discussed and incorporated from the very beginning.
Following on from the success of the installation of the automated brick slip cutting machine last year, a further additional machine has been added this week.
Investment in our machinery means we will be able to turn around more products faster and efficiently with the capacity to cut thousands of slips a day. When requiring bespoke chimneys, nobody does it better than Fab-Lite. The large brick faced steel framed stacks we had supplied last year were now in place on the roof. We tried to get in to get some better shots but apparently security has been extremely tight since it was alleged Mr Clapton was looking for a London base to strum on his guitar.
The brick corbel detail worked well and great that these could be supported directly off the roof without having a chimney breast running right through the centre of the block losing valuable floor space. |
