Jan 2013 - Fastbrick Cladding System

Fastbrick Cladding System

Hanson Structherm has appointed Fab-Fix Limited as approved installers of their Fastbrick System.

The installation of the Hanson Structherm Fastbrick system is much quicker than traditionally built masonry and to a higher quality standard. It’s ideal for use as a durable, decorative and thermal insulating finish to external vertical walls. Fastbrick is suitable for fixing to existing or new build structures that use masonry, dense concrete, modular units, timber or metal frames. The system comprises a rigid phenolic insulation panel which Hanson Structherm pre-bonds to a brickwork coordinating carrier sheet. This composite panel is then fixed to the substructure on site, and brick slips are fixed to the carrier sheet using a purpose made adhesive. A specialist pointing mortar completes the installation and gives the perfect finish.

Fastbrick incorporates standard 20mm brick slips; however small areas such as corbels and dentil courses can be achieved by altering the thickness of the finishes from 15mm to 30mm.
External corners, soldier courses and reveals can also be achieved by the use of L-shaped pistol slips.

Nov 2011 - 525 square meters of Pro-Clad panels

Fab-Fix secures 525 square meters of Pro-Clad™ panels for St Petersfield, Ashton under Lyne. The Architect wanted to create a diagonal pattern of brickwork using a 240 x 52mm blue/black textured slip sourced from Germany, in conjunction with other areas of lightweight cladding in the same Carlton Brick as the majority of the masonry being traditionally built. Fab-Fix was able to satisfy both areas using the Pro-Clad™ panels. The seamless finish between the cladding to the balcony areas and the traditional areas of Carlton Bricks, coupled with the ability to create diagonal brickwork in the German slips, allowed a high level of design freedom whilst retaining a cost effective solution. All the panels will be pre-pointed to avoid any wet trades during the wet and cold winter months for installation.

Jun 2011 - Order Secured for Liverpool University

Fab-Lite have secured an order to supply over 2000no brick faced lintels on Liverpool University with Ocon and the brickwork subcontractor PLF. This prestigious contract was awarded to Fab-Lite on its innovative lightweight steel/GRP and brick fabricated soffit faced lintels which were specifically designed to overcome the design requirement of the Architect to have exposed brick soffits to all window openings, without the weight and handling problems associated with a Pre-Cast concrete and brick traditional solution. The continuous ribbon area of suspended brickwork was also resolved using the same material combination and technology and we believe this solution will be a popular on other schemes that previously only had the option of heavy concrete/brick or complex difficult to install brickwork support systems.
